Step 1: Plans & Drawings
If you are refurbishing your existing kitchen – send us your measurements (width x height of each door, drawer or panel in mm).
If you are having a new kitchen and would like our beautiful plywood doors for Howdens units or Ikea units – ask them to include all doors, drawers and plinths in their plans and send us the full drawings and specification pack.
We have created a handy form for you to complete which works for both of these options
Step 2: Choose Materials & Style
You can choose from a wide range of materials including:
- natural plywood
- laminate faced plywood – with 100’s of colours to choose from
- real wood veneer faced plywood
Door styles include:
- Zen – no visible handle
- Whole – a finger hole pull handle
- Handy – choose from a range of sizes & shapes of recessed handle
- Get a Grip – unique Life of Ply full width handle with a mid-century modern aesthetic
Step 3: Sign off the Schedule
Our team will work with you (and your planner or contractor if you have one) to clarify everything in your design brief and produce a fully costed schedule for you to sign off.
If you want to see different colour or finishes combinations, we can produce visuals for you for a small charge (refundable against your order).
Once your final schedule is approved we’ll invoice you for the deposit which secures your slot in our manufacturing schedule and confirm the lead time. (Currently this is around 6-8 weeks, but can vary and we always try to accomodate your timetable).
Step 4: One-2-One Video Call
Our Creative Director will meet you on a video call to run through everything on your schedule and plans.
We think it is important you understand everything and we know sometimes little details get missed. It’s really helpful to chat them through with someone with a bit more experience of designing kitchens.
The amount of decisions you have to make when refurbishing your kitchen or installing a new one is huge and we want you to be happy with your Life of Ply kitchen for a long long time – after all it is the heart of your home and a big financial committment.
Step 5: Manufacturing Your Kitchen
Now it’s over to our technical and artisan team!
They will be making your bespoke kitchen components from your chosen plywood.. They’ll be using both our CNC machine and traditional joinery processes.
They will hand-finish all your plywood doors, drawers and panels and label and pack them so that your fitters will understand which piece goes where.
During this time our team will also be liasing with you to confirm your delivery date and method.
Step 6: Delivery to Your Door
Your individually wrapped and labelled plywood kitchen components will be delivered to your door by one of our trusted independent couriers.
We’ve worked hard to find the right partners for this part of our service as we know it’s a really exciting day for you – the day your get to see the potential beauty of your new forever kitchen.
We’re also passionate about supporting other small businesses and it makes us happy to work with them and help their businesses grow alongside ours.
Step 7: Install & Enjoy Your New Kitchen
We’re happy to chat to your fitters and answer any questions during this phase but it’s often not needed.
If you are installing your own kitchen and need a little more support our team will help in whatever way they can – we’ve often talked people through things on video calls, or sent short technical guides. .
Then it’s time for you to gather your friends and family and turn your kitchen into the heart of your home – ooh and don’t forget to send us photos; it’s one of our favourite parts.
